The 1st Conference of the ISETT-WH will take place in 2011! Visit us soon for more details!
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
The purpose of International Society for Emerging Technologies and Treatment in Women's
Health (ISETT-WH) is to evaluate advances in technologies, treatments, and medical devices for women.
In the past several decades, numerous treatments and devices have been introduced into the armamentarium to treat disorders and diseases in women. While many of these innovations have proven their value in reducing pain and suffering and improving patient quality of life, no international body has existed to evaluate their safety, efficacy, and cost effectiveness.
In order to meet this need, Dr. Togas Tulandi,Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University, and Dr. Jacques Donnez,Professor of Gynecology, at Catholic University, Louvain
Belgium have established the International Society for Emerging Technologies in Women's Health (ISETT-WH).
According to Dr. Tulandi, many new and under-evaluated technologies have been introduced in recent years. In order to determine their therapeutic value and their safety, a permanent international forum must be established. Without this, women may suffer needlessly and precious resources may be spent without effect. We must protect women's health!
As a first step in creating assessment protocols and programs for evaluating emerging technologies in Women's Health, the ISETT-WH will conduct an International Conference of world leaders in the field in 2011! The conference which will deal exclusively with emerging technologies, will address issues related to advances in minimally invasive surgery including robotic surgery and natural orifice intraluminal endoscopic surgery, ultrasound technologies, treatment of uterine fibroids with embolization and focused ultrasound, and advances in assisted reproductive technologies including in-vitro maturation treatment, and fertility preservation. New treatment or new indication of existing treatment and state of the art image-capturing in medicine will also be discussed.
An International Scientific Program Committee consisting of world renowned clinicians and scientists has been established to develop a comprehensive program of discussion and debate. A preliminary agenda and the venue will be announced shortly. Persons or institutions wishing to participate in the inaugural scientific Conference of the ISETT-WH, may contact June Viau, Program Manager (june@friglobalevents.com).
Looking forward to your support and participation in 2011!
